About Zach
I understand the frustration of learning on your own, or almost worse, from a teacher who doesn't seem to care or know what they are talking about. When you take lessons from me, I will play tons. Not to show off, but to give you an immediate sound concept to work toward, and hopefully inspire you. We will work toward YOUR goals in the most efficient and engaging way we can. With just 10 or 20 minutes a day, you can improve more than you think! As a trained music educator, I understand how important it is to maintain a fair and professional relationship with students and parents. Questions and concerns along your journey will be addressed to the best of my knowledge and ability. Looking forward to working together!

I teach beginners and intermediate students how to play music, not just your instrument. Music is a language to be understood, not just notes to be played. Here's what you can expect from my saxophone lessons:
-A guide on purchasing equipment
-How to care for your instrument
-The fundamentals of sound production
-Guided instruction on how to not only improve, but enjoy what you're playing no matter your skill level.
-A practice plan tailored to you
-Cultural, historical, and musical context to the music you are playing.
For more intermediate students (1-4 years of playing, high school level):
-A more categorized practice plan following the four T's: Tone, Tongue, Time, and Technique.
