About Katelyn
I am currently in my 5th year of teaching 7th grade English Language Arts, with experience teaching6th grade Science. I am also currently working on my Masters in Curriculum and Instruction. Being someone who didn't quite like reading in middle and high school, I have found a love of adolescent literature. I love finding books, and other engaging texts that help give students that spark, that ignites a better relationship with reading.

A typical lesson with me, starts with working one on one to determine need and interests. We then will work together to select engaging texts to read and work through together. My goal is to help create a "tool-box" of strategies to help you become more successful at tackling reading and writing. This is applicable to any subject you may need assistance in, as reading and writing are the foundational skills needed to learn. I believe that lessons need to be relevant and engaging, so with the initial meeting to determine interests, I will create lessons and activities relevant to the learner's interests.
