About Heather
I am a certified elementary educator with 8 years of classroom teaching experience and a strong background in mathematics and early literacy instruction. I graduated from Kean University with a K–6 Teaching Certification and an additional Mathematics Certification, allowing me to support students across multiple grade levels with confidence and expertise.
Throughout my career, I have taught 1st, 3rd, and 5th grade, giving me a deep understanding of how academic skills develop over time and how to effectively meet students at their individual learning level. I specialize in mathematics instruction and provide tutoring support through 8th grade, while also offering explicit phonics instruction for younger learners who need strong foundational reading skills.
I take a structured, patient, and results-driven approach to teaching. Lessons are carefully planned, goal-oriented, and tailored to each student’s needs, while still remaining engaging and supportive. I believe in building confidence alongside academic growth, helping students feel capable, motivated, and proud of their progress.

I use a student-centered, structured, and confidence-building approach that meets students exactly where they are. For younger learners, I provide explicit, systematic phonics instruction focused on letter-sound relationships, blending, and decoding to build strong early reading foundations.
