  • Tell us more about your subject. How did you develop an interest in this field?

    Accountancy, Economics, Business Studies, Management Accountancy, and Taxation together form the backbone of commerce education. These subjects are not just academic disciplines; they explain how businesses function, how economies grow, and how financial decisions are made in real life.

    My interest in this field developed naturally during my academic journey in commerce and further deepened through my professional qualification as a Chartered Accountant. While studying and later practicing, I realized that concepts taught in textbooks come alive when connected with real-world examples. This blend of theory and practice fascinated me and inspired me to specialize in teaching these subjects in a clear, structured, and practical manner.
  • What or who is the motivation behind you choosing to teach & why?

    My strongest motivation to teach comes from students themselves. Over the years, I have seen many capable students struggle—not because they lack intelligence, but because concepts were not explained to them in a simple and logical way.

    I believe a teacher’s role is not just to complete the syllabus, but to remove fear from subjects like Accountancy and Economics. Helping students gain confidence, clarity, and independence in problem-solving gives me immense satisfaction and continuously motivates me to teach with dedication.
  • How does your work help society?

    Education creates long-term impact. By teaching commerce subjects, I contribute to building financially literate, responsible, and informed individuals who will become future professionals, entrepreneurs, and decision-makers.

    My work helps society by:

    Strengthening students’ analytical and financial thinking

    Preparing them for professional courses like CA Foundation and higher commerce studies

    Encouraging ethical understanding of taxation, business, and economic systems

    Well-taught students grow into professionals who make better decisions for businesses and society as a whole.
  • If you had to think of a role model for your work, who do you think of & why?

    Rather than one individual, my role models are teachers who combine deep subject knowledge with humility and clarity. I deeply admire educators who can explain complex ideas in the simplest language and who focus on student understanding rather than rote learning.

    As a Chartered Accountant, I also draw inspiration from professionals who balance practice with teaching, ensuring that students receive education that is both academically sound and practically relevant.
  • Tell us about your hobbies outside teaching.

    Outside teaching, I have a strong interest in cricket, which I enjoy both as a viewer and follower of the sport. Cricket teaches discipline, strategy, and teamwork—values that also reflect in my teaching approach.

    I also enjoy long drives, which help me relax and reflect, and I have a keen interest in exploring new places. Traveling to different locations allows me to experience diverse cultures and perspectives, keeping my outlook fresh and balanced. These activities help me maintain mental clarity and enthusiasm, which positively impacts the energy and focus I bring into my classes.
  • Do you have an anecdote to tell us about your student or professional life?

    One experience that stands out is of a student who was extremely anxious about Accountancy and believed they were “not meant for commerce.” By breaking concepts into simple steps and focusing on understanding rather than memorization, the student gradually gained confidence.

    Not only did the student pass comfortably, but they later expressed genuine interest in pursuing higher studies in commerce. Moments like these reaffirm my belief that the right guidance can completely change a student’s academic journey.
