About Winnie
I graduated as a chemical engineer and started off teaching part-time while having a full-time job in 2004. I eventually discovered my passion for teaching. When my students excel in the subjects, teaching gives me a lot of fulfillment and satisfaction. Eventually, I decided to teach full-time. My teaching approach involves customizing lessons for each student based on their progress and abilities. This personalized approach allows me to tailor every lesson to suit the specific needs of each student, ensuring that they receive the most effective guidance. I understand that a strong foundation is essential for students to succeed in their academic journey. Therefore, I focus on making the lessons simple and easy to understand. By breaking down complex concepts into simpler terms, most of my students are able to grasp the material more effectively and build a solid understanding of the subject matter. I am usually very lenient with the students who are disciplined and responsible for their own studies. I can also be very strict with students who slack and are lazy.

I believe in mastering a subject through this process: understanding, internalizing, recollecting, and applying. I guide every student step-by-step through this process of learning until the student has mastered the topic before moving on to the next topic. As such, every one of my lessons is custom-made to the individual because everyone learns differently. I also give my students tips on exam techniques. Students who have the right attitudes and follow my guidance usually ace their exams. Typically, a lesson is 1.5 hours to 2 hours, depending on the student's pace of learning. I have taught A-level Mathematics and IGCSE Additional Mathematics since 2005. If you are sitting for the A-level or IGCSE exam, you can contact me.

Winnie is a stern yet patient teacher. I believe this style of teaching has really disciplined me into developing a determined mindset. Even if there is a topic that I am unsure about, Winnie chooses to go over it again with me, not only recapping previous knowledge, but also making it much easier to remember. If you don't get it after the first explanation, she doesn't hesitate to reexplain it but in a different style to help you understand.
She also encourages students to keep trying practice questions both in lesson and outside. She is very responsive to messages and will try to explain solutions even if you text her.
What I also like is that when you are attempting a question, Winnie will attempt it on her own too. This means she can discuss her working with you later on should you get confused. Occasionally, Winnie does make a mistake for her answers but she will correct herself and admit that she messed up somewhere.
