About Desiré
I hold an M.S. in Chemistry and a B.S. in Bioanalytical Chemistry, earned magna cum laude, from Sam Houston State University. I have more than 7 years of tutoring experience, including private one-on-one instruction and tutoring mathematics and science. My professional chemistry background also gives me practical experience applying the concepts I teach.
I strive to create a respectful, encouraging environment where students feel comfortable asking questions and working through mistakes. I approach each lesson with patience, clear communication and attention to the student’s goals. Whether you need help with a difficult topic or ongoing support, my goal is to help you build understanding and confidence that extend beyond our lessons.

My approach is patient, practical and tailored to each student. I break challenging concepts into manageable steps, explain why a method works and guide students through practice problems before encouraging them to solve similar problems independently. I welcome questions and adjust my explanations to the student’s pace and learning needs.
A typical lesson begins with a brief review of the student’s goals and any areas of difficulty. We then work through key concepts and examples, practice together and finish by reviewing what the student can apply independently. Lessons can focus on homework support, test preparation, or strengthening foundational skills.
With a master’s degree in Chemistry and more than 7 years of tutoring experience, I combine subject knowledge with clear, approachable instruction. My lessons are for students taking Algebra I, Algebra II or General Chemistry who want to understand the material more deeply and become more confident problem solvers.
