About Ashona
I've spent years in both the classroom and the research lab — as a university lecturer, academic adviser, and researcher in computational drug discovery. What draws me to teaching, at every level, is the same thing that draws me to research: watching a concept click into place, and helping someone move from memorising a fact to actually understanding it. I've seen too many capable students lose confidence in Chemistry because it was taught as something to be recited rather than reasoned through. My goal is to change that — building real understanding, not just exam answers, so students carry the confidence (and the curiosity) well beyond the test.

PhD-qualified chemist, university lecturer, academic adviser, career adviser, researcher, editor, and writer, offering tutoring from senior phase through to university level. I teach Chemistry (CAPS, IEB, and Cambridge AS/A-Level) and Biology at the school level, and Chemistry modules — including organic, physical, and computational chemistry — at the undergraduate and postgraduate levels. As a full-time lecturer, adviser, researcher, editor, and writer, I bring current, real-world academic experience to every session, helping students build genuine understanding rather than just exam technique.
