About Harlow
My interest in chemistry began with curiosity about how substances interact and transform at a fundamental level. This interest led me to complete an M.Sc in Chemical Sciences, where I developed strong theoretical and practical understanding of chemical systems. Over the last 10 years, I have taught students at various academic stages, guiding them through complex topics with patience and structured explanation.
I believe chemistry education should emphasise understanding over memorisation. I adapt my teaching style to match each student’s learning pace, using analogies, visual aids, and step-by-step reasoning. My goal is to help students feel comfortable asking questions and confident exploring challenging concepts without fear of mistakes.
Beyond teaching, I remain connected to chemistry through continuous study and academic exploration. Teaching chemistry is meaningful to me because I see students grow more confident and capable in their reasoning. Supporting their academic development and curiosity is a central part of my teaching philosophy.

Chemistry lessons are designed to help students understand matter at both the microscopic and macroscopic levels. I focus on building clear understanding of atomic structure, bonding, reactions, thermodynamics, kinetics, and equilibrium through logical explanation rather than rote memorisation. Lessons use visual models, reaction mapping, and conceptual comparisons to help students grasp abstract ideas with greater confidence. Each topic is approached methodically to reduce confusion and increase retention.
As learners progress, lessons emphasise application and reasoning. Students practise balancing equations, analysing reaction mechanisms, interpreting graphs, and solving numerical problems with structured guidance. I explain how chemical principles connect across topics, helping learners see chemistry as a cohesive system rather than isolated chapters. Regular review, guided problem-solving, and conceptual reinforcement are central to every session.
Chemistry lessons also strengthen analytical thinking and attention to detail. Students learn to observe patterns, make predictions, and justify conclusions logically. Many learners gain confidence as chemistry begins to feel predictable and understandable rather than overwhelming. My aim is to help students approach chemistry with clarity, curiosity, and steady confidence.
