About Launa

Holding a BS Chemistry degree from Rice University and a teaching credential, I walk into every session smelling faintly of laboratory reagents. My 9 years of teaching organic chemistry involve navigating the complexities of synthesis pathways, SN1 and SN2 reactions, and functional groups. I guide students through amines, carbonyl chemistry, reaction mechanisms, IUPAC nomenclature, aromatic chemistry, and stereochemistry. Building a bridge between abstract theory and observable results is how I spend my time.

About the lesson

Clarity is the honest confession I make because organic chemistry often feels like a foreign language to new students. I use custom reaction summary sheets to organize the chaos of arrow pushing and synthesis maps into repeatable patterns.

My 9 years of experience ensure that we focus on the specific concepts that cause the most common pitfalls. We practice until the logic becomes instinctual rather than memorized. Progress happens when the mechanisms finally click into place. Results rely on the foundation I help you construct.
