About Mia
I'm an A level student at one of the top 5 schools in the UK studying maths, further maths, chemistry and biology. I aspire to be a doctor in the future, achieving 4/4 medicine offers at Russell Group universities. I have a variety of hobbies including playing guitar, pilates and netball and regularly volunteer with children with chronic health conditions. I am eager and patient. I strive to make all my lessons as engaging as possible so that students can both improve with tricky topics and enjoy their lessons! I am also enhanced DBS checked.

With experience of tutoring GCSE maths and science, I understand exactly what works when understanding content and acing exam technique. I myself, achieved 8 grade 9s and 100% in further maths during my GCSEs. My approach is structured and flexible: I start by identifying areas of strength and weakness and coming up with a personalised plan to make the best of these tutoring sessions. I aim to make sessions interactive so that students are engaged with the material and feel comfortable to ask questions. A typical 1hr lesson will consist of: - recap of previous content - explanation of a topic requested by the student - guided exam practice (teaching exam technique and how to answer questions) - independent exam practice (students having a go themselves and then reviewing answers together). My lessons are aimed at GCSE students studying maths, further maths, biology and chemistry however I also teach maths and science to students in year 7 and 8.

Mia started teaching my daughter when she was in her final year of GCSE's. She taught her chemistry. She was very reliable and structured in her approach. Mia was patient and kind, and took time to explain things properly. She set and marked homework too. We found her to be an amazing tutor and my daughter's grades improved significantly.
