About Emily
I have a Master's degree in Chemistry from the University of Manchester and have been working towards my PhD in Chemistry at the University of Edinburgh. My research fits with physical and inorganic chemistry, so I especially welcome students who might struggle with the mathematical aspects of chemistry in their Scottish Highers, A Levels and GCSEs. I have encountered many students who find these aspects of the subject daunting and we can work on mathematical skills alongside chemistry and science tuition. I have several years of experience tutoring maths and chemistry across exam boards and levels, mostly A level. I have largely worked in online tutoring. I always work alongside exam board specification so that lessons are targeted to the specific topics that you or your child require

Online or in person lessons. I work through examples with students, thinking about real applications as well as exam style questions. Students will be expected to discuss exam style questions, discussing both the relevant knowledge as well as useful exam techniques for different types of questions. Generally topics are student chosen, so I ask students which areas they would like to target as we proceed. We can also work through resources to identify areas of improvement separately.
