About Tomos
I've spent the last 6 and a half years studying chemistry and working in chemistry research - and I love it! I achieved an MChem from University of Bath in 2021 and am currently studying for an MPhil in Sustainable Chemistry at Queen's University Belfast. I have worked as a research assistant at PWN Technologies, and a postgraduate researcher, chemistry tutor, and practical class demonstrator at Queen's University Belfast.

My tutoring lessons have a mix of a lesson/chat going through the specific concepts, and practice questions. There is no need to feel any pressure from me, they are very informal! The topics covered in each session are student-led. To get the most out of each tutoring session, I ask that students let me know a day or 2 in advance what they would like to go through. I run all sessions online, and sessions are typically 1 hour (I am happy to run for an extra hour if requested). I am happy to look at any topics included on the GCSE and A-level chemistry curriculum. I have previous experience tutoring first year chemistry students, and have teaching experience through running lab classes for Master's students.

I have been working with Tomos for 2 years during his MPhil, and I have never seen such a passionate and motivate teacher. During our demonstration hours for Ms students, he was always kind, helpful and available to explain things several time. I am sure that most students ended up being well prepared because of him.
I worked alongside Tomos at Queen's University Belfast, conducting research and running practical classes, and it has been a pleasure to do so. He is incredibly passionate about chemistry and an excellent communicator to younger students, being able to keep them engaged in what they are doing.
