About Mara
My journey into chemistry began with curiosity about how substances interact and transform at a molecular level. This curiosity led me to pursue an M.Sc in Organic Chemistry, where I gained strong foundations in reaction mechanisms, structural analysis, and scientific reasoning. Over 8 years of teaching, I have helped students overcome confusion by presenting chemistry in a clear, logical manner.
I believe chemistry should feel structured and approachable rather than overwhelming. My teaching style emphasises patience, clarity, and step-by-step explanation. I take time to identify where learners struggle and adjust my approach to ensure true understanding rather than surface-level learning.
Outside teaching, I remain connected to chemistry through academic reading, experiment analysis, and continuous professional learning. Teaching chemistry is rewarding because I see students gain confidence and curiosity. Helping them trust their ability to understand science is what drives my passion for education.
