About Reece
Hi, I'm Reece! I am have been tutoring since I began my undergraduate degree in 2018 and have loved it ever since. I often felt during my classes that Chemistry and Maths were one big memory test with too much information to ever remember and that's why I began tutoring to change this narrative. Chemistry can actually be really fun and by just fully grasping the fundamental principles, it allows you to be creative in your design and application of new chemicals - especially if you go on to do a PhD! I hope I convince more people that Chemistry is more than that big memory test it can often feel like and inspire some bright future researchers.

I have always believed that to be successful in Chemistry (and Maths), you need a really strong foundation of understanding which can be logically applied to a range of problems rather than the classic 'cramming' and memorising that many people try to employ. For that reason I find I learn and teach best by really hammering home the theories and principles that underpin the science before encouraging the student to find their way to the correct answer without just memorising the final product. Lessons of 60-90 minutes are usually best to allow ample time to explore a topic and practice some questions but not overwhelm the student with information.
