About Rachel
Most of all I enjoy helping others reach that “I get it now!” moment and building confidence in understanding the theories they need to know to excel, while helping them enjoy the process along the way. I like to rely less on memorisation and prefer helping students understand the patterns and theories behind the specifications they are required to learn so that they are prepared to tackle the more “out-of-the-box” questions that can be the step to achieving the next grade. I believe practice is the best way to cement understanding and recognise where improvements can be made, but more importantly, confidence can be built.

Hello!
My name is Rachel and I’m a chemistry PhD student and qualified teacher up to A-level standard. I have previous experience tutoring students one-on-one and teaching science in the classroom. I am most familiar with the AQA and OCR exam boards and specifications and have taught classes in biology, physics and chemistry at KS3 and GCSE level. Additionally, I have led revision sessions and worked as a teaching assistant in A-level classrooms to support students in achieving their academic goals.
