About Paul
Students have found me approachable and always willing and patient to help them grapple with concepts they are learning. They like the way I break down concepts into mini-concepts to improve knowledge and understanding of subject content.
I use various teaching tools to aid students' understanding . These include presentations, teacher led discussion, practice questions, open discussion and interactive methods like students giving feedback to answers using a whiteboard/show me boards.

I have 30 years of experience teaching Chemistry, Physics and General Science in state schools in Scotland. I have also taught these subjects at MYP/DP level at International Schools in Germany, along with IB Diploma Psychology. Age ranges taught have ranged from Grade 6-12 for MYP/IB Diploma Courses and S1-S6 in Scottish State schools.
Throughout my teaching career, lesson duration has ranged from 40 minutes to double periods (120 minutes).
I hold BSc. Chemistry degree, a Pg.Dip. in Bioengineering, a BSc. Honours Open Degree (Open University) for Psychology, Physics and Music and a PGCE Secondary Science.
Teaching methodologies include presentations, group work, student collaboration, question and answer sessions through teacher led discussion, experimental work(individually and group) and differentiated material through outcome and task.
