About Elizabeth
I am an incoming medical student, with offers from Aberdeen, Edinburgh, Glasgow, and Oxford. I completed my sixth-year studies with Advanced Higher exams this summer.
I am deeply passionate about helping others and have extensive experience helping others in the voluntary sector, on hospital wards and in services for children with additional needs. In any situation, I prioritise understanding and adapting to the needs of others.
I took Biology, Chemistry, and Mathematics Advanced Highers, and these subjects along with English, French, and Physics at Higher, and have achieved A1s in all results so far received.
I believe that with an enthusiastic and patient teacher, who can adapt the way they teach to the interests and skills of their pupil, anyone can develop a similar enthusiasm for a subject, leading to stronger exam performance!

Chemistry was my favourite subject at school, but it can be difficult to ignore the bad press that it gets! In reality, a strong foundational understanding can make things much easier with respect to the knowledge required, and practice makes perfect for calculations.
I would aim for an environment where asking questions is easy, and where understanding is prioritised over rote learning. Application back to practice papers is something I have found very useful, and I would aim to incorporate exam technique into each lesson.
