About Kelsey
My interest in chemistry developed from a fascination with how precise molecular interactions lead to powerful real-world transformations. This passion led me to complete an M.Sc in Analytical Chemistry, where I gained extensive experience in chemical analysis, data interpretation, and experimental reasoning. Over the past 11 years, I have worked closely with students from varied educational backgrounds, helping them build clarity, accuracy, and confidence in chemistry.
I believe strong chemistry teaching requires patience, structure, and adaptability. Every learner processes information differently, so I tailor explanations and practice strategies to suit individual needs. I emphasise understanding over speed, encouraging students to build confidence through steady improvement rather than pressure. My teaching environment is supportive, calm, and focused on long-term growth.
Beyond teaching, I stay engaged with chemistry through continued academic reading, analytical problem-solving, and exploration of applied chemical sciences. Teaching chemistry is deeply rewarding to me because I witness students transform confusion into confidence. Helping learners trust their reasoning and develop precision remains one of the most fulfilling aspects of my work.

My chemistry lessons are designed to help students understand the logic behind chemical behaviour rather than rely on memorisation or shortcuts. I begin by strengthening fundamental concepts such as atomic structure, periodic properties, bonding theories, and molecular interactions, ensuring students see how each idea connects to the next. Lessons are delivered in a calm, structured manner, using diagrams, relatable examples, and step-by-step reasoning so abstract concepts feel manageable and clear. Students are encouraged to pause, reflect, and question freely throughout each session.
As learning progresses, students build confidence in stoichiometry, reaction balancing, equilibrium, thermodynamics, and solution chemistry. I guide learners through calculations carefully, teaching them how to organise information, interpret chemical data, and avoid common mistakes. Each lesson includes guided practice, correction discussions, and reinforcement strategies that help students develop consistency and accuracy. Rather than rushing through topics, I focus on depth and understanding, allowing students to truly internalise concepts.
Chemistry lessons also develop patience, focus, and logical thinking. As students gain clarity, they become more confident tackling complex numerical problems and conceptual questions. Many learners find their anxiety replaced by curiosity and control. My goal is to help students feel confident, capable, and well-prepared to apply chemistry knowledge independently in academic and practical settings.
