About Thea

My interest in Chemistry began with curiosity about molecular interactions and how they govern material behavior in both natural and synthetic contexts. This passion led me to pursue a Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry and a Master’s degree in Organic Chemistry, where I studied reaction mechanisms, synthesis, and analytical techniques. Over 10 years of teaching, I have guided learners of varying abilities to achieve strong conceptual understanding, analytical confidence, and practical competence in Chemistry.

I emphasize clarity, structured guidance, and individualized support in my teaching. Many learners initially struggle with abstract chemical concepts, so I provide step-by-step explanations, relatable examples, and hands-on problem-solving to make learning accessible and enjoyable. I create a supportive environment where curiosity is encouraged, questions are welcomed, and students develop the confidence to explore complex ideas independently.

Beyond teaching, I remain engaged with contemporary chemical research, experimental techniques, and practical applications of chemistry in industry and academia. This allows me to incorporate real-world examples and modern practices into lessons. Teaching Chemistry is deeply rewarding because I witness students transform initial confusion into confidence, analytical skill, and appreciation for the subject’s relevance, fostering both personal and academic growth.

Chemistry becomes fascinating when students grasp both the conceptual logic and practical applications of chemical reactions. My lessons focus on helping learners understand reaction mechanisms, stoichiometry, thermodynamics, kinetics, and laboratory problem-solving techniques. I emphasize reasoning and analytical thinking, showing how chemical principles interconnect to explain observable phenomena. Interactive demonstrations, worked examples, and guided exercises encourage engagement, clarity, and a deeper understanding of chemical processes.

I adapt lessons according to each student’s experience and goals. Beginners develop foundational knowledge of elements, compounds, basic reactions, and safe laboratory practices. Intermediate learners explore kinetics, equilibria, thermochemistry, and reaction pathways. Advanced learners engage with multi-step synthetic routes, advanced problem-solving, mechanism analysis, and conceptual integration. Each session combines explanations, practical exercises, and conceptual discussion to reinforce comprehension and application.

Chemistry lessons cultivate critical thinking, systematic problem-solving, and precise analytical reasoning. Students gain confidence interpreting reactions, performing calculations, and predicting chemical behavior. Many develop a deeper appreciation for the logic, beauty, and practical utility of chemistry in everyday life. My goal is to help learners build both intellectual and practical confidence, equipping them with skills to excel academically and professionally.
