About Nitin
Hi, I’m Nitin! I’m a Barbadian chess player and coach with a FIDE rating of 1854. I’ve been playing chess from a young age and have had the opportunity to represent Barbados internationally.
Some of my achievements include becoming the 2017 Barbados Under-20 Champion, winning a silver medal at the 2016 CARIFTA Games, captaining the Barbados team at the 2019 CARIFTA Chess Championships, and finishing 2nd in the Barbados National Chess Championship.
I’m passionate about helping others discover and enjoy chess. I believe anyone can improve with the right guidance, and I aim to make my lessons engaging, practical, and tailored to each student’s goals and experience level.

My lessons are designed to make chess simple, enjoyable, and easy to understand. Whether you're completely new to chess or already know the basics, I tailor each lesson to your level and goals.
We can work on everything from the rules and piece movement to openings, tactics, checkmates, strategy, and game analysis. Rather than simply memorizing moves, I focus on helping you understand the ideas behind them and develop your own ability to think through positions.
Lessons are interactive and practical, with plenty of opportunities to play, solve positions, and apply what you learn. My goal is for you to finish each lesson with a better understanding of chess and something you can immediately use in your games.
