I am originally Irish, and have just moved to Perth! I have taught in schools, and individual students back in Ireland, and am looking to continue teaching now I am in perth.

My approach to chess lessons depends on each individual student, but there are somethings consistent about all lessons.
Firstly, the most important thing is understanding! I aim to break down the game into understandable concepts, allowing students to be able to effectively analyse a position, understanding the strengths and weakness, and then from that - how to build an effective plan to win the game!
Secondly, I like to think all my lessons are fun. I love the game, and its important to me that the fun of chess is not lost in the study of it.
I am equipped to teach many openings and help my students build a strong repetoire, again based on understanding instead of rote learning.
