About Boris

I am a former chess candidate master - was trained as a junior player in Ukraine. Then I moved to Australia where I focused on my public service job, here is LinkedIn link (concealed information) and also raised children and grandchildren :) Now while retiring, I would like to share my expertise and passion with the young generation. For the last 5 years, I have been working as a chess private tutor and a coach at various primary schools. Very passionate about my job - love teaching kids! Many of my students compete at state and national level (now at international too). I do my best to support them, and equally support those, who just play chess for fun without big plans :)

Boris has been coaching my 10 & 12 years for the last few months to distract them through the pandemic. They’ve gone from playing once a month to nearly every day. They just really like the way he approaches it -they love it.

I asked the 10 yr old what he thought ;
“ Boris is a brilliant chess coach. He has improved my game in every way, giving feedback on the games I’ve played and showing me games that grandmasters have played.
