About Walter
It started with me teaching chess to my niece and nephew and when I realized that it was just as exciting for me to teach them the game as it was for them to play it, I decided to do this professionally. Working as a chess tutor at Hokali After School and Camps cemented my passion for teaching kids the joy of chess.

We start with the basics since some folks find chess to be intimidating. So first it's just explaining the key 6 things, what each piece can do. Once the basics are taught (this varies from player to player) we get more advanced:
