About MADU

As a National Arbiter of FIDE and the co-founder and Head Coach of CHESS REPUBLIC AUSTRALIA Chess Academy ((concealed information) with over 15 years of playing experience and numerous awards, I am passionate about coaching chess, especially for school children all around the world. My approach to teaching chess goes beyond the technical aspects of the game, as I emphasize the cognitive and developmental benefits that chess can bring. In my lessons, I not only cover the rules and strategies of chess, but also focus on how chess can improve memory, increase intelligence, elevate creativity, and enhance planning skills. Skilled chess players learn to anticipate their opponent's moves, develop the ability to see from someone else's perspective, and make informed decisions accordingly. These skills can be valuable not only in chess, but also in other aspects of life. I am proud to offer a 10-day basic program for beginners, as well as personalized weekly classes with one-on-one instruction. My lessons are tailored to cater to the unique needs of school children in Victoria, providing a supportive and engaging learning environment. I combine my expertise in chess with modern teaching methods to offer personalized, one-on-one instruction to students in Melbourne, as well as coaching several schools in the area. About the lesson

Welcome to my one-of-a-kind approach to teaching chess to children! As a chess coach with years of experience, I provide a comprehensive coaching method that combines theoretical and practical lessons to help beginners learn and improve their chess skills.
My 10-day continuous basics chess programme is designed specifically for beginners and covers all of the fundamentals of chess, including the chessboard, chess pieces, check, checkmate, casting, special pawn movements, and chess notation. To reinforce the learning process, I provide engaging and interactive lessons with worksheets and notes.

I teach students of all levels and personalise my lessons to their specific requirements. My coaching approach is adaptable and flexible to their level, whether they are just starting out or have some prior knowledge of chess.

Join me in my chess lessons and let's embark on an exciting chess journey together, where your child will develop a solid foundation in chess and learn how to approach the game with confidence and skill!

When did you start practising? How did this passion find you?
When I was in grade 2 I started to play chess. My chess journey starts at school and I have now been playing chess for more than 16 years. I started to work as a chess coach in 2019. Before that, I used to coach my school chess team.
Which Chess player or games inspire you the most?
I prefer chess puzzles, they give me more enjoyment. I have always been motivated by one player, Susan Polgar. I am very pleased to follow her chess journey because it is very interesting and inspires me every day.
What are the specific qualities or skills required to succeed in this area?
I think the most important part is experience.
What is the most valuable advice you can give to help someone stay focused on their goals?
Don't give up and try your best.
How would you describe your passion; how does it make you feel?
Chess is the most valuable thing in my life. Chess coaching gives me more relaxation and pleasure.
What Chess achievements are you particularly proud of?
I found a unique style for coaching chess, it is my 10-day program. It is the most successful program. I can surely say that, according to my students' feedbacks.
Do you have a specific level of Chess you like teaching?
I meet lots of students with different talents levels but it's not applicable for me, because I can coach all levels without any difficulty.
