About James
I have extensive experience in orchestral, chamber, and solo performance. I have held the position of principal cellist in Chicago Youth Symphony Orchestra and have won positions in the Illinois All State Honors orchestra twice. I am experienced as a teacher due to background doing volunteer work with public school orchestra students here in Chicago. In addition, as a member of the Chicago Youth Symphony Orchestras, I have performed various education concerts across the city for CPS students. While primarily teaching cello, I have basic knowledge of all string instruments and have experience teaching them all. I have had my own online private studio since 2019.

I believe that, as the teacher, I have duties to provide to the student but, conversely, the student also has duties to provide to the teacher. In order for improvement to be seen and for the full potential of the student to be met, both sides must fulfill their respective responsibilities.
