About Hannah
I have been a homeschooling supplementary tutor for over five years, and I have worked with students and parents in building a curriculum foundation that works for their families and students' learning style.
My goal when it comes to working with students and parents is to establish baseline communication about coursework and any expectations that you may have when we work together. My number one priority is ALWAYS the education of the student.
I am not afraid to push the boundaries of what the student believes they can achieve to what the parents and I know is possible.

My technique for teaching is holistic, flexible, and thorough. Although specifics can vary across students, your values as a parent and educator are critical to how I approach educating your child. I am experienced in the Classical Conversations education model and use that as my curriculum's foundation. I am proficient in the IEW classical English/Writing curriculum, and I am willing and able to adjust or supplement any curriculum. In addition, I provide a more in-depth explanation of the foundations of styles of essays and poetry, as well as reading different pieces of literature from all styles and periods.
My typical lesson plan depending on the unit begins with a background discussion to grasp the level of understanding of the student and any of the vocabulary words we'll be tackling throughout the lesson. From there, we go into a mix of lecture content and exercises for the work-from-home. If discussed with parents, I also supply extra work that supplements the core work and bolsters the student's understanding of English and its parts.
I work with both neurotypical and special education students and have a flexible teaching style and organization fit for each family. I have the most experience with students from Challenge A and B (7-8 grade) but I am confident to work with students from 6th grade - high school.
