About Rebecca
I am a graduating student from Reed College. I have been playing classical piano for 17 years, and have given lessons on/off for six years. The students I have taught previously walked away with an inspiration to practice and pursue music.

I offer classes to people of all ages and experience--whether they have never touched a keyboard and wish to learn the basics, or if they have been playing piano for many years and wish to further hone down their skill. During the first lesson, I learn about the student--what is their background, what they wish to get out of these. I usually teach with a combination of traditional books and techniques (John Thompson, Suzuki, Hanon, Clementi, etc.) with an emphasis on genuine enjoyment and healthy form. However, if the student wishes to focus on a different skill (sight reading, improvisation, pop music chords) then I am more than happy to accommodate them.
