About Mahmoud
I hold a doctoral degree from the University of Akron – Department of Biology, and I am currently a Research Associate at the Department of Integrative Medical Sciences – Northeast Ohio Medical University.
Before I came to the USA to pursue my doctoral studies, I had completed a medical residency in neurosurgery.

I began my teaching and mentoring activities during my residency program as informal lectures and one-on-one mentoring meetings with junior resident physicians and house officers. Therefore, I developed a teaching philosophy that is grounded in the idea that good teachers should strive to empower their students with a desire for a lifelong quest for learning.
Essential to my practice is engaging students in transformative experiences relevant to their academic and professional aspirations. For that purpose, I design engaging activities to suit the characteristics and diverse learning styles of my students.
