About Iliana
i am an independent designer, artist and educator with a focus on designing and producing one-of-a-kind, short run and custom clothing for women. in a NY collective of indie designers i co-operated a clothing boutique in the east village, nyc for 5 years. since 2008, I have also done on-site tailoring for the fashion and entertainment industry serving both commercial and high-end markets to notable clients and companies. additionally, I ran a sewing and design camp for middle school girls in brooklyn, NY for 5 years and also taught some workshops at the Fashion Institute of Technology. I love watching people grow and evolve in their creativity.

I like to guide the student according to their need, interests, skill level and what they have stated about their goal(s). I teach in an organic way. easy, flexible however, I do like to emphasize fundamental skills and build upon them. knowledge of tools and materials is also very important. I also like to make class as enjoyable as possible while remaining focused on the tasks.
