About Angel
Hello, Please let me take this opportunity to introduce myself my name is Angel De La Rosa a recent Biology major graduate of Guilford College. As a major of biology I had the opportunity to enroll in a variety of biology courses. I have taken courses such as Ornithology, Conservation Biology, Ecology, Animal Behavior and Invertebrate Zoology. During my college career I was extremely engaged and devoted to my department. I took several Independent Studies and became a TA for several of the classes and was awarded a departmental scholarship. I am interested in live organisms and animal behavior, I also had a job position at Guilford as the department assistant, I was responsible for maintaining freshwater and marine aquariums. Arranged lab utensils, cleaned lab, ran errands for professors, and looked after lab critters. Prepared labs for students, set up freshwater aquarium, and fed marine invertebrates. I also volunteered weekly as a mentor with the Guilford STEM Partners program where I worked with middle school students from under represented groups in science. I was also a member of the Multicultural Leadership Scholars Program (MLSP), a year-long program designed to develop students’ understanding of diversity, equity, and inclusion and their impact in society as well as at Guilford. Overall I love science and nature I also am interested in aquatic environments, I have performed studies in Bettas and other animals, at home I have tree freshwater aquariums and one marine aquarium. In the future I plant to pursue a masters in conservation and eventually become an educator or anything that I would enjoy.
