About Carsyn
Hi, I’m Carsyn, a college student with a love for learning and teaching others. When I’m not engaged at school, I enjoy hanging out with friends and playing pickleball. I've spent the last 5 years surrounded by math classes. During this school year, I have been able to privately tutor (paid activity) an Honors Algebra II student in her studies. With dyscalculia, she works through her mind's struggles slowly and needs assistance to process the lessons presented to her. Most Mondays for a little less than two hours, I have been there to guide her through imaginary numbers, factoring, and other hard-to-grasp concepts. Recently, however, I have been given another opportunity through the school to become a peer tutor (unpaid activity) in the concepts of both math and science. Being recommended by my teachers in the two subjects, I will be able to help assist younger students in their schoolwork. Through thoroughly teaching in and out of school, I have furthered my knowledge of these subjects and had to learn patience throughout the process.

These tutor sessions for students below the college level can benefit all learners. Students can present their concerns of learning and we will work through practice problems that align with areas of struggles. Then looking towards homework or take home tests we will use repetition to develop confidence in work relieving test worries through practice.
