About Sharon Gean Lyn
I was born and raised in Malaysia, and Chinese is my mother tongue. I can also speak English, Malay, and Cantonese. Currently, I’m 20 years old and pursuing a degree in Occupational Therapy in Australia. I am passionate about helping students improve their Chinese proficiency and have 4 years of tutoring experience. Since I will be working with children during my hospital placements, I hope to gain more experience teaching young learners. As an international student, I also wish to earn an allowance to help with my living expenses.

I use interactive and engaging teaching techniques, including flashcards and storytelling, to help students grasp Chinese language concepts in a fun and memorable way. My lessons are structured to maintain children’s attention while reinforcing key vocabulary and speaking techniques. Each lesson lasts 1.5 hours, as I understand that young children have a limited attention span. This ensures they stay focused while maximizing learning efficiency.I specialize in teaching primary students who are building a strong foundation in Chinese, whether they need help with schoolwork, exams, or general language improvement.
Qualifications & Experience:
4 years of experience teaching primary-level Chinese.
Achieved an A in SPM (Malaysian high school qualification).
Successfully helped a student improve from 28 to 75 marks within 2 months
