About Abby
Hi! My name is Abby, and I am about to graduate with primary majors in Economics and Management and a secondary major in Mathematics. I am part of a rigorous honors program which makes up 5% of the business school. I will graduate with a 4.0 GPA. I also earned a 790/800 on the SAT Math portion and an 800/800 on the SAT Math Level 2 subject test. I have spent all three summers of college working with students age 7-15 at summer camp, so I have extensive experience mentoring and caring for students of all ages. I understand the importance of patience when working with students and I will meet them wherever they are in their understanding of the subject.

I started tutoring a student in Geometry last semester and I am looking forward to expanding my tutoring business. I have always enjoyed math and I have been informally helping my peers with math since middle school. I believe that so many students struggle through foundational math classes like Pre-Algebra and Algebra without truly understanding the content, and it is my goal to ensure that students succeed in these courses so that they can excel in more advanced classes later on.
My students will not only learn how to solve math problems, but also why they are solving it a certain way. Often students are tempted to memorize a specific process without understanding what they are actually doing. Understanding the reasoning behind the process is essential so they can apply their knowledge in future classes.
