About the lesson

Each lesson will target different skills required for the student's grade according to their syllabus. Lessons are planned prior to each class. Timing of classes will be discussed according to the convenience of the student.
In these lessons, skills targeted are:
- Developing the skill to communicate clearly, with accuracy and effectiveness when speaking and writing
- Be able to use wide range of vocabulary, and the correct grammar, spelling and punctuation in writing
- Develop a personalised writing style that works best for the student and know how to both address and write according to different situations
- Learn how to analyse what examiner is looking for in each question
As a tutor, I will work together with both parent(s) and student in order for the student to gain the most knowledge possible in every class to use and apply in their future tests, classes or in any way they require it.
Therefore, students are required to give me a basic overview before classes commence. This includes:
- Which year are they in? (e.g. Year 8, Form 2, etc.)
- Which syllabus do they follow? (e.g. IGCSE, SPM, etc.)
- What are they currently learning in school? (e.g. Summary Writing, Narrative, etc.)
- What do they struggle with? (e.g. Vocabulary, Reading, Writing, etc.)
These questions would give me an idea of what do they need to be taught, and for me to research on so that everything taught can be used with what they are currently learning.
Classes will be held online due to the current pandemic. If student/parent(s) prefer to have physical classes, it can be discussed privately to work out something that would both ensure the safety of people involved.
