About Heron
Since I was a young student of 11 years old, I have loved to tutor and pass on knowledge to those who needed more time and a different path to understanding. I have been the student who was new to a country and had to learn a whole new language, culture, and way of learning. I tutored for a non-profit called Give Every Child A Chance during my middle school and most of my high school years. Although I had to step away from the program, I continued to help my fellow students while I continued my higher education. I would like to officially continue providing tutoring services once more through superprof.

My teaching methodology is based on the student and how they learn best because not everyone learns the same way. Students can be visual, verbal, or analytical learners and understanding who they are as a person is the best way to figure out who they are as students and how to teach them. Typical Lesson Plan: 1. First 10 minutes dedicated to casual conversation on anything the student wishes to share. 2. Work on what they feel is most difficult for them to understand for 30 minutes and then a break for 5-10 minutes. 3. Continue on teaching and studying for another 30 minutes. The lessons are for anyone who needs help in the areas I specialize in from young children, young adults, college students and adults in continuing education programs or anyone else who wishes to learn. What sets me apart as a tutor is that I am very adaptable and open from my social interactions to my teaching methods. If a certain approach does not work for the student in their understanding, I welcome any ideas for a different learning pathway that suits the student. I am also capable of being able to work with various types of students no matter their nationality, language, age, etc. Sharing knowledge is a gift to be paid forward.
