About Charlie
Keen illustrator, creative visionary, and fantasy enthusiast. Dabbles in comics, 2D traditional and digital illustration, and 3D sculpting for video games. Avid researcher, interested in history and culture, with environmentalism as a key personal virtue. Inspired by sci-fi, the natural world and fantastical creatures. Somebody who appreciates the little lights in our world. I have 5 years of freelance art experience, from drawing comics, to working on video game art. I've worked in a contemporary art gallery and been a part of art festivals as an exhibitor.

Everybody has a pool of creativity inside them, I want to help that creative potential flow, whether it's drawing, painting, creative writing or designing fantasy worlds. We all have that right to being creative and unique, no matter your current skill level, or if it takes an extra hour of learning, I can bring that light out! Whether you want to make a living from art, or just pursue it as a therapeutic hobby! Art specialism and what I can teach TRADITIONAL or DIGITAL ART: ~ Sketching and drawing from real life and imagination, both on paper and digitally! ~ Painting with watercolour, gouache, acrylic and digitally using primary or secondary reference and imagination. ~ Comic or art books and writing, including layouts and printing ~ Worldbuilding and creative writing for video games, book, etc ~Project planning and outcome execution. Lesson plan: In our first lesson we would introduce ourselves, get to know more about your goals and artist ambitions, whether that's to work in a specific field or create art as a hobby! I'll define your interests and existing skills and plan how to move forward with your creative journey. Further lessons could include art tutorials, demonstrations, and workshops on anything specified above. We will plan a project to develop any aspirations in the field or just focus on learning skills.

Charlie is very knowledgeable, calming and full of joy for what they do. When we first met I understood very little about comics illustration or games art, then over our monthly meetings I got so much insight and it all became so much clearer! They take the time to explain things and answer questions with simple language, I think Charlie would be a great tutor for anyone wanting support from someone personable with a great in-depth knowledge of the industry.
I had the pleasure of teaching Charlie as part of their BA Comic and Concept Course. They have all the right qualities to be a teacher. They are conscientious, extremely hard-working, always willing to learn more and deeply engaged with their subject and its overlapping industries.
