I use direct scaffolded instructions and will help students commit knowledge and processes to long-term memory.
Methodology:
Provide students with 1 short reading article. Students will read and attempt to rewrite the ideas presented in the article 3 times.
Each time students rewrite, they will read the article again with teacher's help to refine and internalize the grammar structure, new vocabulary and style of expression used by the author.
The idea is to gradually internalize intermediate to advanced linguistic devices, expand their vocabulary, fix punctuation and consolidate their control of the English grammar.
Tutor will identify grammar structure that students struggle with and provide a breakdown of the grammar structure, e.g. subject, verb, relative clauses and 3-5 sample exercises for students to practice using the grammar structure.
