About Harlow
I am an English tutor who is passionate about books and the power of words. I know that English can sometimes feel tricky because there isn’t always one right answer, so I try to be a supportive and steady guide. I want to create a relaxed learning environment where you feel safe to share your ideas. I believe everyone has a unique perspective, and I am here to help you express yours.
I am good at breaking down what exam boards are looking for, helping you turn your thoughts into high-scoring answers. I have worked with many students, from those who struggle with reading to those preparing for university literature courses. We will work together to polish your skills, making reading feel less like work and more like an adventure. I am here to help you through every assignment and overcome any writer's block.

My way of teaching English focuses on helping you find your own voice and express your ideas clearly. I don’t just teach grammar rules; I help you understand the deeper meaning behind what you read and how to write in a way that captures attention. Whether we are studying famous novels or modern articles, I plan my lessons to make you think critically about the text. I want to help you write essays that are not only correct but also unique and strong.
We will practise different kinds of writing, from creative stories to formal letters and persuasive arguments. I place a big emphasis on expanding your vocabulary and using different sentence styles, which are great ways to improve your grades. I will give you honest and helpful feedback on your writing, showing you exactly how to fix mistakes and make your work better. I always adjust my teaching to fit your level, so we can tackle harder challenges step-by-step.
I am very dedicated to helping students who feel unsure when analysing texts. I use simple outlines to make essay writing feel less difficult and more manageable. We will discuss the history and context of the stories we read to bring them to life. By creating a comfortable space for discussion, I encourage you to share your own thoughts and opinions. My goal is to help you become a confident writer and speaker who feels at home with the English language.
