About Wayne
I am a 3rd-year student studying Biomedical Sciences and Commerce (Economics) at Monash University. I am Malaysian Chinese but I grew up in China from the age of 4 due to my father's occupation. I completed all my schooling there and left at the age of 19. English is my most proficient language as I completed all my schooling in English, but I speak Chinese at a native speaker level, partly because of my background but also because of my interest. My biggest advantage is that I am native in both English and Chinese, and I am able to explain Chinese concepts in English. I really enjoy teaching Chinese to others as I am passionate about the language, and inspiring students to learn and enjoy Chinese brings me great satisfaction.

I specialise in assisting students with their current Chinese curriculum, by explaining linguistic concepts in a simpler way as well as providing guidance on their homework tasks in English. This was my main strength as well as an area of focus as a private tutor teaching at an International General Certificate of Secondary Education (IGCSE) Second Language Chinese level for Y9-10 students. However, I am confident to also teach younger students, as I am passionate about teaching Chinese in a simpler and more understandable manner. A typical length of a lesson would be 1 hour
