About Phil
Hello, and welcome. My name is Eddy Scott, and I am a qualified and dedicated educator with a Postgraduate Certificate in Education (PGCE) in Mathematics and Computer Science, as well as an Honors degree in Information Technology. I have a solid academic foundation combined with hands-on teaching experience, including work in inclusive education and special educational needs (SEN/LSEN) environments.
I pride myself on being a professional, reliable, and well-prepared teacher who values respect, structure, and clear communication. My lessons are carefully planned to suit each learner’s level, learning style, and pace. I believe that real understanding comes from breaking complex ideas into manageable steps, and I take the time to ensure that students feel confident before moving on.
Students can expect a calm, supportive, and focused learning environment where questions are encouraged and progress is consistently monitored. I place strong emphasis on building both academic skills and self-confidence, especially for learners who may have struggled in the past.
I am honest about my strengths and capabilities, and I teach within my areas of qualification and experience. My goal is not only to help students improve their results, but also to help them develop logical thinking, problem-solving skills, and a positive attitude toward learning — particularly in Mathematics, Computer Science, and Information Technology.
