About Thea
I hold a B.Sc in Computer Science and an M.Sc in Software Engineering, with 11 years of experience teaching computer programming to students at various academic levels. My academic journey exposed me to both theoretical foundations and applied software development, allowing me to explain programming concepts with clarity and real-world relevance. This background helps me guide students through challenges with practical insight and patience. My teaching philosophy centers on clarity, encouragement, and adaptability. I take time to understand how each student thinks and learns, adjusting explanations to suit their pace and comfort level. I believe that confidence in programming grows when students feel safe to ask questions, make mistakes, and explore solutions without fear of judgment. Outside of teaching, I continue to engage with programming through ongoing learning, software experimentation, and exploration of emerging technologies. This continuous growth allows me to keep lessons current and meaningful. Computer programming becomes accessible when learners clearly understand how logic transforms ideas into working solutions. My lessons focus on building a strong conceptual foundation in programming by guiding students through step-by-step reasoning, clear syntax explanation, and practical problem-solving strategies. I help students understand not only what code does, but why it works, which builds long-term confidence and independence.
Students begin with core concepts such as variables, data types, conditional logic, loops, and basic algorithms. As skills develop, lessons expand into functions, object-oriented programming, debugging techniques, data structures, and structured program design. I use hands-on examples, guided exercises, and real-world scenarios to help students see how programming skills apply beyond the classroom.
Programming lessons also develop patience, analytical thinking, and creativity. Over time, students become more confident experimenting with ideas, identifying errors, and improving solutions. My goal is to help learners feel empowered by technology and confident in their ability to solve problems logically and independently.
