About Sorrel
I have 9 years of experience teaching Computer Programming to students preparing for exams, university pathways, and professional development. I earned a B.Tech in Computer Science Engineering, which provided strong grounding in software development, computational logic, and the technical foundations of modern systems. This academic background allows me to teach programming with both clarity and real-world relevance.
My teaching style is structured, patient, and supportive. I believe students learn best when they understand the reasoning behind each step, so I break down concepts carefully and adapt explanations to the learner’s pace. I encourage students to ask questions freely, practice confidently, and develop independence through problem solving rather than memorisation.
Outside tutoring, I stay engaged with programming through personal coding projects, exploring new technologies, and keeping up with modern software trends. Teaching programming is deeply rewarding because students often transform from uncertainty into confident creators. Programming becomes far less overwhelming when learners understand that coding is simply structured problem solving expressed through a computer language. In my lessons, I guide students through Python, Java, data structures, algorithms, object-oriented programming, and debugging strategies with calm explanation and supportive practice. I focus on helping learners build strong foundations so they can write code confidently instead of copying patterns without understanding. Each session encourages curiosity, experimentation, and steady growth in both logic and creativity.
Lessons are tailored carefully to the student’s current level. Beginners explore variables, loops, conditions, functions, and basic programme structure through simple hands-on exercises. Intermediate learners strengthen modular design, error handling, data structures like arrays and lists, and problem-solving techniques for larger programmes. Advanced students focus on algorithm optimisation, APIs, project development, interview preparation, and building complete applications. Every lesson includes guided coding practice, feedback, and clear correction.
Programming lessons help students build skills beyond technology, including resilience, analytical thinking, and structured creativity. Over time, learners gain confidence as they see their ideas come alive through working programmes. My goal is to help students feel empowered by coding and ready to explore the modern digital world with independence.
