About Janice
I adopt a structured and student-focused approach to tutoring, with an emphasis on clarity, consistency, and confidence-building. Each lesson is tailored to the student’s level, learning goals, and syllabus requirements, ensuring that concepts are understood rather than memorized.
Lessons are taught step by step, starting from core fundamentals before progressing to more advanced applications. For mathematics and statistics, I focus on developing strong conceptual understanding alongside effective problem-solving techniques. For data science and programming, I emphasize practical application, clear logic, and real-world examples to help students understand how concepts are used in practice.
A typical lesson runs for 60 minutes, with the option of longer sessions for examination preparation, coursework support, or university-level topics. Lessons usually include a brief recap, guided practice, and targeted exercises to reinforce learning.
I hold a Bachelor of Computer Science (Data Science) and have extensive experience applying mathematics, statistics, Python, and data analysis through academic and applied projects. I am patient, organized, and attentive to individual learning needs, and I aim to create a supportive learning environment where students feel comfortable asking questions.
I teach primary, secondary, junior college, diploma, and university-level students, as well as adult learners seeking to strengthen their quantitative or analytical skills. Lessons are adapted to suit different ages, abilities, and learning styles.

My tutoring approach is student-centred and structured, focusing on building strong foundations before progressing to more advanced concepts. I begin by assessing the student’s current level, learning goals, and school or university syllabus, then tailor lessons accordingly.
I use a step-by-step teaching methodology, breaking down concepts into simple, logical parts and reinforcing learning through worked examples, guided practice, and problem-solving. For mathematics and statistics, I emphasise conceptual understanding alongside exam techniques. For data science and programming, I focus on practical application using real datasets and clear explanations of underlying theory.
A typical lesson lasts 60 minutes, with flexibility to extend to 90 minutes for exam preparation, project support, or university-level topics. Lessons usually include a short recap, introduction of new material, guided practice, and a summary with follow-up exercises.
I hold a Bachelor of Computer Science (Data Science) and have strong practical experience in mathematics, statistics, Python, SQL, and data analysis through academic and applied projects. I regularly explain complex technical concepts in a clear and structured manner through reports, presentations, and peer collaboration.
My lessons are suitable for primary, secondary, JC, diploma, and university students, as well as adult learners seeking support in mathematics, statistics, Python, or data science. I adapt my teaching pace and materials to suit different ages, abilities, and learning styles.
