About Mackenzie
I went to Syracuse University and studied Computer Science. To make additional money during college, I became a tutor for the university to help other students. Now I work for an investment management firm as Senior Business Analyst. Over the years, I have recognized that even though someone may be a subject matter expert, that does not mean they are an effective teacher. I have taken my experience in college and learned the importance of patience and how to be the most effective teacher.

I have also been on the other side with having multiple tutors for years and sometimes could not understand why some got through to me more than others. After getting a tutoring opportunity for my peers at Syracuse, I quickly became one of the most sought after tutors. I went from tutoring small groups of 15 to lecture halls of 100. My approach is simple. Patience and confidence is key in teaching and learning. I do my homework to determine what the curriculum and expectations from the teacher/professor are and determine how each student best learns.
