About Adam
My name is Adam and I graduated Summa Cum Laude from Tufts University with a degree in Computer Science and a minor in Mathematics.
I have been tutoring since High School when I taught Math and Science after school twice a week during my Junior and Senior years. In college, I became a Teaching Assistant for the Intro To CS course in my second year taught in C++, before transitioning to a higher level course taught in C. I typically held 6 - 8 office hours per week during which I would help students with difficult concepts as well as support them in their projects.
I have been programming for 10 years. The first program I ever wrote was Conway's Game of Life (look it up) in VBA for Excel. The languages I am most experienced with are Python, C, C++, and Javascript, though I don't think that a list of languages should hold too much weight, as Computer Science fundamentals and concepts (with some exceptions) are language-agnostic. I have strong educational and practical experience with algorithms, data engineering / processing / pipelines, machine learning with PyTorch, mobile app development with React Native and more!

I spent 3 of my 4 years at Tufts University as a Teaching Assistant and Teaching Fellow for Computer Science courses by holding office hours, leading review sessions, and grading student submissions.
I strongly believe that working through problems, hacking through bugs, and learning from your own mistakes is an important part of learning how to be a great programmer and Computer Scientist. However, having the right support, tools, and habits can save countless hours of frustration and be much more efficient than going at it alone.
I encourage students to not ask for solutions, but to ask for the concepts that they can apply to find their own solutions.
