About Jeffrey
I am a rising junior computer science student at the University of Maryland College Park with 2+ years of experience private tutoring in advanced math and English subjects and 10+ accomplished students. I am a graduate of the Montgomery Blair High School STEM Magnet Program where I was able to properly develop my teaching skills as well as mastering high-level mathematical subjects like (Pre-Calculus, Calculus, and Statistics.)

I will prepare a lesson plan ahead of time using powerpoint slides regarding specific mathematical subject for middle and high school students. First, I always allow the students to attempt problems themselves and then I will teach them the correct way to solve the problems using visual examples and detailed explanations. I make sure to teach different strategies students can use to reach solutions so that they can pick whichever method makes the most sense to them. I always make sure to adjust the speed of the lesson and learning style to accommodate each student. I will then provide the student with more unique examples to practice and at the end of each session I give a quiz to check for understanding. I assign homework so students can practice outside of sessions and I place an emphasis on students loving to learn and so I uniquely tailor the lessons with added bonuses and incentives I know the student is interested in. I make sure to always ask students to be transparent and honest and communicate when they are lost so we can get them to the point where they have mastery over the subject and could teach another student.
