About Liya
Math and computer science have always been my favorite subjects. I know these subjects can be difficult to understand and I’d love to make them more comprehensive! I like to keep my sessions professional, yet fairly informal. I'd like my students to feel comfortable enough to ask whatever questions are on their mind and get the most out of their session.
I am open to tutoring any level of grade school math up to AP Calculus AB, as well as AP Computer Science Principles, AP Computer Science A, and college level introductory object-oriented programming courses. (For reference, I scored a 5 on the AP Calculus AB and AP Computer Science A exam.)

During the first session we will assess where the student stands currently in terms of knowledge and what their goals for the sessions are (ex. AP exam prep, homework help, etc). From there we will follow a combination of a set study plan/technique to reach their goal along with whatever the student deems urgent at the time.
Online sessions are preferred since I live on-campus but in-person sessions will be considered based on distance!

Details
Online sessions are $30/hr and in-person are $40/hr (if agreed based upon distance).
The first hour will be 50% off, and if still interested in more sessions, we will continue with full prices.
For in-person sessions there are two options.
1. We can meet at a public library near the student’s home.
2. The student can come to a public library at the University of Maryland.
A parent/guardian is more than welcome to accompany the student!
