About Nicola
Hi! My name is Nicola (or Nikki!) and I am a classically trained violinist who offers one-to-one in-person and online (Zoom or FaceTime) violin lessons for beginner to intermediate level players. I am an experienced performer with a high level of performance experience both in small and large-scale events. I tailor my violin lessons to suit the student in terms of their age, level and pace to ensure all my students have a fulfilling journey with me. As a soloist, I have performed in Singapore, China and the UK at different venues from large concert halls to small churches to even charity events.
Qualifications and experience:
- ARSM (DipARSM) Associate Board of the Royal Schools of Music in Violin Performance (Distinction)
- Currently holding a Music Scholarship at Oakham School
- Soloist at the Suzhou Bay Grand Theatre, Suzhou, China
- Soloist with the Oakham Choral Society, UK (with the video linked)
- Gold award winner at multiple competitions (ie: Singapore Raffles International Music Festival, The International Solo Competition HitMaker)

As a classically trained violinist, I have also had my fair share of teachers and mentors who have helped me grow into the musician I am today. They have taught me many valuable lessons and skills that I want to pass down to my own students to help them in their own musical journey.
When it comes to violin playing, or any instrument, I find that having a very solid foundation in proper technique is crucial. When I say technique, I'm talking about bow hold, vibrato, posture and more that many tend to overlook. I can teach young children (typically ages 10+), all the way to adult beginners who want to start playing the violin.
Lesson availability: As of now, I am open on only weekends.
Location and flexibility: As of now until the end of August, I am open to both online and in-person lessons around London! I am fully willing to travel up to your house to have our lesson. However, this could soon change to online lessons only!
