About Aaliyah
I am a violin tutor with 10 years of playing experience and a strong performance background. I teach students aged 16 and under, focusing on building solid technique, confidence, and musical understanding in a supportive environment.
My lessons are clear and structured, covering fundamentals like posture, bow control, intonation, and tone, while also developing musical expression. I break things down step by step and make sure students always know what to work on.
Each lesson is tailored to the student’s level and goals, with steady progress as the main focus. My aim is to make learning violin both effective and enjoyable.

My approach as a tutor is centered around making lessons engaging, personalized, and goal-oriented. I believe every student learns differently, so I adapt my teaching style to match each student’s pace, interests, and strengths while still building a strong technical foundation.
Teaching method and techniques:
I focus on a balance between proper technique (posture, bow control, intonation) and musical expression. I break down difficult passages into smaller, manageable sections and use demonstration, repetition, and guided practice to help students improve. I also include listening skills and basic music theory when helpful.
A typical lesson plan:
Lessons usually start with warm-ups and scales to build technique, followed by a quick review of previous material. Then we work on current pieces or exercises, focusing on both accuracy and musicality. I like to end lessons on a positive note, often revisiting something the student enjoys.

As a younger teacher, I’m able to connect more easily with students and keep lessons relatable and less intimidating. I create a supportive, low-pressure environment where students feel comfortable learning and asking questions.
