About Douglas
Armed with a BS in math/Science education and heightened sense of adventure, I volunteered for the Peace Corps in 1976 and spent 3 wonderful years working/living and traveling in Swaziland & Southern Africa. This was followed, both single and married w/family with stints in Turkey, India, Indonesia, Oman, Bangladesh and Germany. What was most rewarding was teaching very diverse international students the universal language of mathematics.

Whether as a tutor or teacher (of a class), helping students to understand how all the myriad skills/concepts of mathematics connect to make sense are the focal point of how I would like students to learn. This however is not a one-way street and student feedback & questions are essential for students to build their understanding.
